Lakestar is the home and art studio of Dillon Brown which he purchased in 2015.  The home was built in 1987 as a vacation home for a Reno doctor.  This slice of heaven is one of the last remaining pieces of land around Pyramid Lake that is part of Washoe County.  Dillon lived in the home for the first 6 years he owned it and has chosen to create the Lakestar Vacation Rental so that others can enjoy Pyramid Lake from here and so he can focus on his art. There is no good reason why Dillon ended up with the property, it was simply a matter of luck, and maybe his immense passion for Pyramid Lake. 

Because Lakestar is in Washoe County, those are the laws that apply on the property. Once you cross the road out front, you are on the Pyramid Lake Paiute land and are expected to respect the regulations set forth by the tribe. A day use permit or a fishing permit are required by the tribe to enjoy this magnificent lake.  The only reason we have the opportunity to experience this mostly undisturbed region is because the Pyramid Lake Paiute tribe has protected it from modern development, with a great many sacrifices and tough fights along the way.  If you are lucky enough to meet a tribal member while you are here, be sure to thank them for sharing this magnificent lake.
